Year of the Snake: Shedding, Shifts, and Daily Transformation

Hey friends,

Did you forget? Remember back in the spring when I said this year would be full of shifts? Don’t you remember? 😉 Maybe things felt a little calmer this summer, a bit more settled—but we’re still in the Year of the Snake. The final shedding isn’t done yet. Things are going to feel heavy, intense, and sometimes downright hard again. And honestly? I have to keep reminding myself too.

Between the news, politics, paying bills, caring for pets, making sure kids have what they need, cooking meals that are both delicious and nourishing, and somehow finding space for your own self-care… the day-to-day grind is real. And yes, that grind is exactly what helps us shed those stuck scales. It’s in these everyday moments; dry brushing, castor oil packs, mindful breaths, walks, nourishing meals, that transformation quietly happens. The scales are coming off, even when it feels heavy.

Personally, this year has been full of big shifts in my own practice. I left Monarch Integrative Health, started my York office, joined the 402 Collective, moved offices with the Collective into a permanent space, and now… I’ll be moving my York office again later this fall. Same building, same suite, just into a bigger, brighter office. I can’t wait to greet you there with more space, more peace, and fresh energy.

Whether you believe in astrology, quantum physics, or just the metaphor of it all, fall is a time of release, reflection, and transformation. Think of the Year of the Snake as the final reset phase following the Wood Dragon year that broke things down so they could be rebuilt. This is the time to release what no longer serves you, to reflect on all the changes you’ve experienced this year, and to prepare for the space you’re stepping into next.

So, how are you holding up? How is your shedding going? Take a deep breath. Give yourself grace. Show up for your own self-care. Trust the process. The final transformation is happening, and amazing things are ahead.
